about

Independent Music Sampler #148

Aldora Britain Records proudly presents Verlaine, an eclectic collection of 25 independent and underground artists from all around the globe. This collection is dedicated to the legendary Television frontman Tom Verlaine. I still remember very vividly the impact that Marquee Moon made on me in my early teens. Thank you for the music, Tom.

We welcome back several friends this week, including the waltzing and nostalgic indie folk of Grand Alpaca, and the atmospheric and growing chamber pop of The Dead Sea Sound. Catherine Traicos returns with her ambient and ethereal modern blues, Val Esway + Global Spider Community bring us their upbeat and harmony-driven indie pop, and Andy Pickering rewinds time with his glimmering technicolour analogue pop. There is Beatle-esque melody-driven powerpop from DC Cardwell, weird and wonderful jazz folk from Quirkus, and Spanish-Celtic folk crossover from Rolan Garces & Bandatze.

Big Stir Records are back again with the upbeat melodic punk rock of Steve Stoeckel, and we have the Americana singer-songwriter folk of George Krakat. Blue FX Records give us Mike Langley's lo-fi psychedelic alt folk, Pete Willson & The Rooks deliver their alternative jangle pop rock, and Molly Thompson gets experimental with her free-form improvisational jazz poetry. We then have noir psychedelic ghost punk courtesy of These Days PR and This Will Destroy Your Ears, groove-driven psychedelic rock from Have Blue via Nasoni Records, fuzzy garage mutant music from Musicians Anonymous Cleveland, and noir and deep post-punk from DPERD via My Kingdom Music.

As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.
