The Feedback File is a Hertfordshire-based outlet for the indie folk musings of singer-songwriter John Almond. These tunes convey feelings of euphoria and melancholia, free-roaming travel and nostalgic longing, and relatable honesty and truthfulness. With a history that stretches back to the 1990s, Good Dreams Bad Dreams allows listeners to gain an insight into The Feedback File's discography to date. Within, there is charming folk rock, whimsical alternative Americana, and a bittersweet jangle pop sound, a magnificent and glorious melting pot.

For fans of Lloyd Cole, Matt Berry, Billy Bragg, Neil Young, and Hiss Golden Messenger.

"This compilation of tracks looks to give a taster of the type of music that The Feedback File has been producing over the last twenty-five years."

"The first two albums, Under Your Door and Still Revolving, featured the co-founder of the band Tom Linneen on the majority of the lead vocals, he also did a few co-writes. Following Tom’s departure, there have been two further albums, The Earth Beneath Our Feet and Summerland, which have a slightly different flavour, but still focussing on strong melodies, alongside interesting textures and arrangements. There has also been an instrumental compilation album called Sans Voix."

"I’ve been lucky enough to have been able to put together an ever evolving loyal band of friends, and friends of friends, from around the globe who have kindly given up their time and talent. However, the core contributors over time have remained consistent - my sister in law Sarah Vallance on vocals; Richard Bell (ex-The Blue Aeroplanes, a seminal Bristol band) on guitars, piano and bass; and Simon Plent who has mixed and mastered the last three albums. My aim is always to try and present each song in the best way that I can, and in particular I have used guest vocalists where I have felt they can add something special. In reality though, there have been dozens of Feedback File band members over the years and I am very grateful to each and every one."

"Reference points, I guess, include the Laurel Canyon scene as well as people like Nick Drake and John Martyn. However, I do also like to incorporate elements of jazz, country, folk, and ambient music."
