about

Avant-garde experimentalist The Utter becomes the latest member of the global Aldora Britain Records family. This two-track sampler, entitled I Hear Voices, is a quintessential stepping stone to the project's most recent long player, the fantastic Pareidolia.

I Hear Voices is a brazen foray into the most experimental and far-reaching realms of rock and roll, an approach that has been described as 'black metal jazz fusion'. Both tracks featured, 'The Road To Caracas' and 'Plain Sailing', retain the improvisational traits of jazz's finest players, but there is something more. The Utter throws these tunes at the wall, drenches them in reverb and fuzz, and produces something metallic, unlike anything else in the contemporary arena. Creative and innovative, exactly how music should be. A quintessential snapshot of the contemporary avant-garde scene.

For fans of The Damned, David Bowie, Motley Crue, Dead Kennedys, and Jello Biafra.

The Utter: "The fusion between jazz and black metal takes the pace, harshness, and abrasiveness of black metal, and the structure of jazz ... I hadn't found what I wanted anywhere else, so I thought I should make it myself!"
