about

Independent Music Sampler #141

Aldora Britain Records proudly presents The Wilko Shuffle, an eclectic collection of 25 independent and underground artists from all around the globe. This collection's title is in memory of the legendary Wilko Johnson, well known as the guitarist for Dr Feelgood, his earthy R&B solo career, and as a Game Of Thrones actor. Thank you for everything, Wilko!

We welcome back several good friends this week. The Hottenrott brilliance returns in the form of Merry Cherry Bomb with some technicolour 70s disco revival. There is dreamy shoegaze garage rock from Rectangle Creep, distorted fuzzy reverb blues from Bruce Madden, and tender Scottish southern gothic from Andrew Ferguson As SIASA. We have the electro-infused neo-folk songwriting of Ruth Hazleton, the joyful Canadiana folk rock of Jackie K, and the alternative post-punk revival of Guthrie Trio.

Glass Island deliver avant experimental prog rock, Circus Of Bones remind us of their post-punk noir garage blues, and The Higher Craft are back with some noir and whirring psychedelia. There is DIY storytelling folk blues from Mint Biscuit, and early medieval folk revival from Larry Dearing. Red On Red Records give us a snapshot of the rumbling Americana country twang of Robin Lane, Big Stir Records unveil the politically conscious melodic powerpop of The Incurables, and Electric Talon Records give us the crunching doomsday heavy metal of Age Of The Wolf.

As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.
