It is with great pleasure that we welcome justin vancour and the justin vancours (all lower case!) to the Aldora Britain Records family. Join us as we take a new folk, alternative blues trip into justin's locked-down pandemic world.

The Strawberry Moon EP provides a fantastic and tantalising introduction to the world of the justin vancours. It is a glorious sonic adventure that encompasses garage country, cosmic Americana, neo-classical, alternative rock and much more. It doesn't stand still, it evolves, changes and mutates as you listen.

justin says: "This EP was written in 2020 at the nadir of my isolation, pandemic blues. It was June and the strawberry moon was out. This beautiful event that marked the lunar call to summer fun, and I was stuck in my basement, literally not even able to go to the grocery store, let alone have a summer adventure. And so, out of that grew this love letter to the moon. This longing for the love. I became obsessed with the idea of driving as far as I could in one day and staying overnight in the woods, away from anyone, which I approximated to be Michiana. These few songs are what bubbled up to the surface."

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
