Alrihkh Bought this because it offers me a more light-hearted selection of tunes than my normal fare. Many genres are represented, but my general take is that most of the tunes on here have a Britpop element to them that reminds me of the 80’s. To sum it up, I find the music on here refreshingly catchy because it’s escaped mainstream overplay, & because it simply is catchy. TY to all who contributed their talents to this album. A good album for carefree listening.

about

Independent Music Sampler #129

Aldora Britain Records proudly presents Supernatural Sound Selections, an eclectic collection of 25 independent and underground songs from all around the globe. This week's title is in memory of Derek McManus, a member of The Supernaturals who passed away recently. The band were at the forefront of the 90s Britpop movement in Scotland. Thank you for the music, Derek.

This week, we welcome back several good friends. We have the brash soulful rock of Mud Bay, the toe-tapping and hip-shaking soul of Trambeat, and the raspy folk punk of Beau James Wilding. There is earthy folk rock from Jim Powell, harmonica-led noise country from Harry Lynch, and avant garde post-punk from Asthma Choir. Elsewhere, Big Stir Records return via the harmony-driven college rock of Amoeba Teen, Bang Records give us the groove-driven R&B of Shoeshiners, and Reglar-Daddy serve up the crunching psychedelic rock of Psychedelic Brain Freeze. Neil Fernandes, of the brilliant Norgay Tension, plays us out with some old-school garage rock.

As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.
