Independent Music Sampler #153

Aldora Britain Records proudly presents Street Corner Jive, an eclectic collection of 25 independent and underground artists from all around the globe. This collection's title comes from a passage I read about the notorious bluesman Hound Dog Taylor. A phrase that just stuck in the mind! This set is dedicated to Keith Reid, an incredible songsmith. Thank you for the music.

We welcome back several good friends this week. The Cancellations have reinvented themselves as Elijah Jones & The CCs and open this collection with their new wave garage soul. We also have the classic hard rock revival of Blackcat Elliot, the dark new grass folk of Banjo Jen, and the worldly adult contemporary pop of Anam Danu. There is Americana singer-songwriter folk from Merilyn Steele, Bad Monkey Records contribute alternative railroad country rock from Cosmic Whiskey Brothers, and we have moody alternative folk rock from Ern Malley.

Thomas Simon Saddier doubles up with an ambient outdoor folk soundscape from Oppenheimer's Elevators and a worldly instrumental raga experimentation from Temple Otium. Passilauma return with their jangly new wave garage, OLD ERNiE deliver their heavy experimental prog rock, and The Evan Williams Project bring their emotive alternative rock musings. Blackjack Illuminist Records then return with the dark electro synthwave punk of ASSASSUN, and Doctor Boots gives us the contemporary death jazz experimentation of The Utter and the electronic jazz fusion of Electrutter. Peter Lawson's swirling heavy progressive rock completes the returning artists this week.

As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.
