The mutant music of Musicians Anonymous Cleveland arrives at Aldora Britain Records. This is their brand new four-track EP, the sensational Soft Sounds Of Polyester.

Soft Sounds Of Polyester lives up to the 'mutant music' banner. These four tracks are a mash-up melting pop of alternative underground rock and roll. There is a heavy dose of reverb, fantastically crossed with fuzzed up tones, and a sprinkling of lo-fi jangle elegance. The songcraft and composition is brilliantly DIY too, emphasising the indie foundations of Musicians Anonymous Cleveland. 'Polyester' and 'Where We Fell' are the top picks, but listeners will also marvel at the '1929' skit and the glorious Beach Boys resurrection of 'Barbarian'.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff.
