The Room Upstairs, favourites of the Aldora Britain Records family, return with a brand new single, 'Shades Of Separation'. The band previously released three singles with us in 2020.

'Shades Of Separation' is a glorious return for these album-era hanger-on-ers. Revitalised and reimagined, there is new life in this classic sound. It is sun-soaked, technicolour and shimmering in its sonic space. There is the classic laidback sound of Conway and Shepherd, but there is also so much youthful energy contained within. Cemented together with a DIY and fiercely independent ethos, it is another fantastic offering from the future of British indie.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
