Aldora Britain Records proudly presents Red On Red, an eclectic collection of 25 independent and underground artists from all around the globe. This release is dedicated to the memory of our good friend Justine Covault. Justine was an incredibly talented musician and also ran one of the best indie labels of the 21st century, Red On Red Records. Thank you for the music.

We welcome back some familiar faces this week. Big Stir Records are back, contributing the iconic original garage rock of Tony Valentino of The Standells, and also the crunching Hammond punk of Sparkle* Jets UK. We have Mega Dodo Records and The Telephones with their colourful modern psychedelia, and Old Town Crier with his live blue-eyed soul. There is the old-time country sound of Lara Hope's Gold Hope Duo, the anthemic southern rock of Highwater, and the darkly noir synthwave of Psykobilly. This Circus Life reappear with their melodic indie folk rock, JD Miner give us their fingerpicking bluegrass, and Anth Purdy gives us his instrumental surf punk.

There is the surf rock revival of El Borko, the Celtic punk of No Murder No Moustache, and the atmospheric neo-prog of Dawnation. There is sophisti chamber pop from The Barbarian Horde, pulsating post-punk electro rock from Zack Zack Zack, and the progressive psychedelia of Colouratura. A Cherry Heaven side project, Guilt Shop, contribute their dreamy shoegaze, and Sarah Partridge is back with her traditional vocal jazz. The closing jazz triplet, featuring the sounds of free-flowing experimentation, includes the Mace Francis Orchestra, Anti Rubber Brain Factory of Le Fondeur De Son, and Die Hochstapler of Umlaut Recordings.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
