about

Dusty Wright returns to Aldora Britain Records with a further two well selected covers. This time, Dusty gives us two Dylan selections. 'Quinn The Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn)' retains its intrinsically laidback folk rock feel, whilst breathing pure energy and adrenaline into the singalong chorus. 'You Ain't Going Nowhere' is harmonica-infused troubadouring folk perfection. Dylan would surely be proud.

Dusty says:

"Before finishing my 9th album, Lonelyville, I started recording cover songs for my next album, Dusted Off. Most of the songs I'd played live over the years in various band configurations. It became quite clear to my co-producer, Martin, that I had more than enough tunes to compile one new album plus some choice leftover singles."

"These two Dylan covers have always been personal favorites. Both had been written during Dylan and The Band's self-imposed Big Pink exile in West Saugerties, New York. For me, they created the whole genre we now call 'Americana', so it's not surprising that I'd gravitated towards 'Quinn The Eskimo (The Mighty Quinn)' and 'You Ain't Going Nowhere'. Interestingly enough, I'd first heard Manfred Mann's hit version of 'Mighty Quinn' in 1968 and The Byrds' country rock reading of 'You Ain't Going Nowhere' from their seminal album Sweethearts Of The Rodeo."
