about

Weekly Independent Music Taster #68

Another week, another collection of dreams. 22 artists from all around the world. A brilliant and varied compilation of independent music from a wide array of genres and styles. The title is a nod to Brooks Dixon's fantastic Pocketful Of Dreams record, an album that I constantly come back to. A song from which, 'Without You', is also fittingly included here. It demonstrates the soulful take on roots rock that Brooks has become renowned for. As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.

It is with great pleasure that we welcome back the witty powerpop of Eytan Mirsky, the classic rock of Joe Cotton and the aggressive punk of The FAQs. Three artists that we have grown to love at Aldora Britain Records. The rest of the compilation is made up of fresh faces, all welcome new additions to our Community for independent and underground music. These fresh faces include another garage punk artist from FDH Records, Baby Tyler.

There is cosmic country rock from Cashew & Cleary, joyous folk rock from Sean Allan and new wave soul from Trambeat. The Celia Bryce Band give us Celtic rock, Nick Ward brings us country folk and Sun-Pinned Leaves play us some art rock. Steven John Birks gets traditional and Sarah Levecque brings it back to alt country sound. There is raw blues from The Bush League and psychedelic excursions from The Alain Pire Experience and Telyscopes.

Things get heavy with the input of The Italian Stallion and the punk adrenaline of Joyblasters. There is an experimental quartet to play us out - the instrumental psych pop of Shy Lust, the funk fusion of Botticelli Baby, the gospel/jazz crossover of Jazz Mafia's Choral Syndicate and the neo-jazz of Brendan Eder Ensemble.
