Kirkcaldy-based singer-songwriter Martin McGroarty becomes the latest addition to the Aldora Britain Records family with this career-spanning 'best of' EP, entitled On My Mind.

On My Mind provides an exceptional snapshot of McGroarty's songwriting and musical talent. The title track offers up a fantastic slice of alternative indie with a minimalistic edge, 'My Angel' has a more emotive feel with a Scottish folk rock undercurrent, and 'Magic Mirror' is a tender-hearted ballad, and quite possibly the highlight. The EP is topped off with a cover of labelmate Andrew Ferguson's gloriously poetic 'If God's Not On The Angels' Side (Who The Devil Is)'.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff.
