RELEASE DAY: Nordicana duo Waterfahl debut on Aldora Britain Records!!

Nordicana originators Waterfahl release their latest single, 'No Man Is An Island', on Aldora Britain Records. In this exclusive digital package, the track is backed up by 'Bundle Of Sticks', the duo's previous single, on the B-side. Both songs are taken from Waterfahl's upcoming studio album.

Nordicana is a glorious new invention from Danish-British duo Waterfahl. A brilliant collision of rootsy alt country and a lo-fi electropop sensibility, the sound succeeds in bringing the listener to a new and ambient soundscape. Who would have thought a bluesy mouth organ would have worked so well with a direct, digital drum beat? 'No Man Is An Island' and 'Bundle Of Sticks' are quintessential additions to the group's catalogue.

Waterfahl speak on the subject matter of 'No Man Is An Island':

"After a fateful vote almost five years ago, John Donne's 400 hundred year old words were widely used as they captured the sense of a lost connection, but also expressed the hope that a link would remain. Because, as he says: 'No Man Is An Island!' This last year's pandemic has once more seen Donne's words become a poignant reminder that we are all part of the 'main' and that our actions have an impact on others. Paradoxically, we have shown respect for the connection by isolation. Personally, we have had to face the choice of staying or going. We will be leaving the island that has been our home and adopted country for the last 13 years, but insist on the words that we are all part of the 'main' - divided by water and politics or not. So, there are several reasons that this song is important to us, and we hope you can sense both the melancholy and the hope embedded in it."
