Independent Music Sampler #160

Aldora Britain Records proudly presents Merit The Moniker, an eclectic collection of 25 independent and underground artists from all around the globe. This release is dedicated to Sam Cutler, tour manager for The Rolling Stones and Grateful Dead, and George Tickner of Journey. Thank you for the music. The title of this collection is sampled from a passage in Julian Palacios' book, Syd Barrett & Pink Floyd: Dark Globe.

This week, we welcome back the twanging new wave country of Broken Radio, the catchy indie pop soul of Endrick And The Sandwiches, and the soulful Americana roots rock of Joe Schaefer. JD Miner return with their joyously kind-hearted Canadian folk, Sid Whelan gives us smooth rootsy blues rock, and Mick Shaffer delivers his optimistic Americana heartland rock. There is soaring country roots sound from The Gated Community, surfing garage rock revival from Richard Ohrn (courtesy of Big Stir Records), and lo-fi jangle pop punk from Falsetto Boy (courtesy of Snappy Little Numbers Quality Audio Recordings).

Matt Chellini contributes his emotive catchy synthpop revival, Kyle Rightley brings his alternative traditional folk rock, and The Legendary Ten Seconds give us Middle Ages folk rock. We have charming tender indie folk from Philippe Bruno, lo-fi DIY indie pop from Stefan Neumann, and crunching noir post-punk from DECIBEL. There is the heavy surfing garage rock of F!, the dirty gumbo blues rock of Chasin' The Train, and the spoken-word gritty blues rock of RockTown Blues.

Our final returning artists are Marcellus Rex with their crunching hard blues rock, Kristin Young with his experimental avant-garde rock, Jim Baumer with his lo-fi singer-songwriter sampling, and Karl Naegelen (courtesy of Umlaut Recordings) with his French free-form avant-garde. As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.
