RELEASE DAY: Anthony St. James releases his brand new single, LEAVING ON THE TRAIN, featuring AB Records alumni Chris Stringer!
FOR FANS OF: indie folk, alternative country and singer/songwriter.
ARTIST BIO: Pennsylvania-via-Baltimore singer/songwriter Anthony St. James writes soulful story songs and folk ballads with the vibe of a worn acoustic guitar rescued from the floor of CBGB’s, and a sympathetic voice filtered through the warmth of 1960’s soul records. Since 2008 he’s performed in cafes, clubs, bars, theatres, festivals, book stores, record shops and radio stations throughout the US and Canada. In 2015 he co-headlined his first tour abroad throughout the UK and Ireland, performing in legendary venues including the Castle Hotel (Manchester) and Bruxelles (Dublin). In 2017, he performed a two night residency in Reykjavik, Iceland, sharing the stage with two of the country’s most acclaimed troubadours, Svavar Knutur and Sveinn Gudmundsson. In 2021, his debut album, Songs Of Anthony St. James, is due.

Worth a listen even if you have only heard his most popular songs. Lawyers, Guns and Money is not here but he does talk about former Govenor Jess Ventura singing Werewolves of London so that's a bonus. timchuma

The best I've heard from Steve Earle in a while. The songs have a subtler, earthier tone, tastefully rendered in authentic sounding country/blues and bluegrass styling. 'J.T' reminds of earlier records like 'Feel Alright' or 'Train a Comin'. A deep sense of grief, love and compassion is felt on the final track, the only composition from Steve, all others composed by J.T. That they sound so good confirms what a great songwriter J.T. really was. tideracer
