Independent Music Sampler #128

Aldora Britain Records proudly presents Knighted, an eclectic collection of 25 independent and underground songs from all around the globe. This week's title is a dedication to Allan Knight of Australian mod rockers The Breed. Allan was an integral part of the band as one of the songwriters, our thoughts are with his family, friends and bandmates. Rest easy, Allan.

This week, we welcome back a number of familiar faces. We have the shuffling Ulster Americana of the Scott Gordon Band, the sci-fi post-punk garage of Pre-Cog In The Bunker, and the singer/songwriter indie folk of Eric Dwight. Dayrider returns with his lo-fi alternative blues, and Big Stir Records make two contributions, Maple Mars and Spygenius. Both selections have traits of melodic punk masterpieces.

We are also proud to announce a new partnership. This time, it is with the fantastically eclectic Reglar-Daddy collective, based in Denver, Colorado. Their first contribution comes in the form of the lo-fi garage rock of The Bob Wales Band. We will be hearing plenty more from Reglar-Daddy in the weeks to come.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
