The Non Traditionals bring their unique and jolly indie folk Christmas to Aldora Britain Records with brand new 4-track EP I Don't Carol.

The selection of songs are a gloriously entertaining anecdote to The Pogues' tale of Christmas heartbreak, Mariah Carey's over-the-top jolly love-in, and Wizzard's festive monotony. The compositions are rooted in DIY lo-fi indie folk, but with an intrinsic festive quality too. Perhaps it could be the only recording this holiday season to feature a chainsaw? These are clever little numbers that will give you a refreshed soundtrack for Christmas 2021 and beyond.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor

I am not really an expert in today's country music. I know and appreciate Sheryl Crow or the Dixie Chicks, but that's it more or less. NIKKI LANE's rocking style with a decent rough edge fits quite well to this "strong women" references. Several songs are catchy and always welcome on my soft music playlists, check for example "First High", "Born Tough" or "Black Widow". H.L.
