UK-based three-piece Tenzin unleash their masterful 'I Believe In You' on Aldora Britain Records. Tenzin is the brainchild of frontwoman and songwriter Lisa Tenzin-Dolma, but she is joined by Zac Ware on guitar and Peter Ulrich on percussion.

'I Believe In You' is a deeply psychedelic and experimental venture into the realms of progressive folk rock. The song is shrouded in a mysticism that accentuates the folk influences at play, as if it is an age-old tale being passed down through the generations. The track is taken from Tenzin's recent long player, Echoes, but there is an exclusive B-side available too. 'A Long Way Home' follows in a similar vein. The composition is more laidback, adding something new to the Tenzin sound. It allows Tenzin, Ware and Ulrich the space to experiment further, and that seems to be the core of their sound. Free-flowing with new ideas welcomed. A tantalising introduction to the fantastic Tenzin.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
