Swedish folk metal legends Kalasfolket return to Aldora Britain Records with a gloriously outrageous new EP, the three-track Heavy Naver. The band has previously released two standalone singles with ABR, 'Systerpolskan' and 'Schottis Fran Kalix'.

Heavy Naver is a three-track set that plots a fresh and exciting course. These original compositions give listeners a glimpse into Nordic and Scandinavian cultures, revitalising them with a dash of punk and a sprinkling of metal. Kalasfolket take their influence from a broad selection, including heavy and crunching rock music, old-time sea shanties, traditional polkas, and much more. Heavy Naver is what fans of both traditional folk and punk metal have been waiting for.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
