about

Brighton gothic noir supremo Oli Spleen releases his latest digital double A-side single on Aldora Britain Records. Both tracks are taken from Spleen's recent LP, Still Life.

'Dying To Live' is a haunting excursion, a reflection at the end of one's life. Questioning and pondering on life's mistakes and regrets. The depressive periods and the lost years. Pleading for an opportunity to revisit and change. 'Still Life' has a more orchestral tone. The track holds onto Spleen's naturally noir sensibility but it glistens too. A perfect juxtaposition. Two beautifully morbid songs, but with an endless grace and elegance. Glorious songwriting from Spleen.

For fans of Jacques Brel, Nina Simone, David Bowie, Leonard Cohen, and The Smashing Pumpkins.

Oli Spleen: "Still Life is a matter of life and death. Depicting … different reflections of life enduring in spite of death. Some of these are personal, some global, some related to our relationship to nature as a species, and some simply individual meditations on grief and mortality."
