Aldora Britain Records' favourite Milwaukee son is back! Here is a brand new EP from Jeff Robinson, a.k.a. Driving School. The release, Back Roads & UFO's, goes off on a brilliant and rumbling rockabilly surf tangent.

The EP has an interesting back story and road to completion, as is ever the case with a Driving School release. The four tracks featured began life as glorious rockabilly instrumentals, originally released by The Del Ripleys on their Leisurama CD. Here, they are reimagined and reborn as a Tarantino soundtrack with a garage rock attitude, a reverb-drenched surf backbone, and a sprinkling of a spaghetti western epic. Yes, it is as good as it sounds!

For fans of The Ventures, The Stray Cats, The Sadies, Ennio Morricone, and The Cramps.

The flac version of this sounds great in my truck... not a crunch, clip or boom to be heard. That, in itself, gets this major points. This is a lovely combination of early Floyd, U2 and a few San Francisco bands from the '60s with a heavy dose of Helmet tossed in. It's definitely best of breed when it comes to modern psych stuff. Even without a Hammond B3, it gets an easy A+... rick-taylor
