RELEASE DAY: Milwaukee recording collective Driving School return with another post-punk smash!

Driving School return with their second single, 'Wait For Your Car'. The song is backed up by another exclusive track, 'Price Of Freedom'. Main man Jeff Robinson recently talked us through both tracks...

'Wait For Your Car': With the exception of new samples - including tremolo guitar, piano and Moog notes - all the music was recorded in '92 by Shiverhead for a song co-written by Shane Olivo and myslef. Shane didn't have the tech to match Shiverhead at the time, so the song sat for nearly 30 years until I recorded it with Shane again recently in 2020. The arrangement is reminiscent of New Order.

'The Price Of Freedom': Besides an original drum pattern programmed and recorded by Rum Revere (Brock Gourlie) on his phone, using the Koala Sampler app, the B-side is all YouTube samples - like an 80s / 90s Dust Brothers production. Recorded and mixed with my vocals at Olivo Audio by Shane Olivo. Mastering was also at Olivo Audio.

For fans of New Order, Dust Brothers and Gang Of Four.
