Californian songstress Shelley Ruhlen Ponce - a.k.a. Mighty Violets - returns for her second single on Aldora Britain Records. 'Strange Star' is also the second taste of her upcoming sophomore album Close Your Eyes.

'Strange Star' once again sees Ponce exploring her more experimental side under the tutorage of producer Marc Jeffares. It is a perfect evolution, bringing in elements of psychedelia and cosmic Americana. Ponce paints a sonic starry sky with a beautiful and technicolour palette. There is a mysterious edge too, especially around her spacious, almost haunting, vocals. I think it is time that we all join Mighty Violets on the glorious cosmic highway. Strange star / close your eyes.
