about

Weekly Independent Music Taster #98

This week's collection of independent and underground music is called Northeast. It shares its title with Sara Milonovich & Daisycutter's recent studio album, a track from which is included here. Alongside Sara, we feature 24 other artists from all around the globe, including Bill Lloyd, this week's pick from our good friends at Big Stir Records. We also include another side project of jazz supremoes Fish Country. This time it is Roest, an indie rock / new jazz crossover. As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.

Ruiz! opens up this week with his colourful DIY Iberian psych. Gambit Of Shame follow with their abrupt and direct post-punk, and Seeds Of 77 bring us some attitude-filled protopunk. We have impactful indie punk from The Media Whores, a lo-fi indie folk soundscape from Jonah Corren and indie folk rock joy from Snacks At Midnight. There is the tender-hearted electric folk of Star Thistle, the orchestral chamber pop of The Innocent and the troubadouring Celtic folk of Steven Gellman.

Wishy Washy contribute a slice of euphoric alternative rock, Pencildive bring the ascending noise rock and Harry Stafford And Marco Butcher deliver quintessential gothic punk blues. We have the anthemic synth rock of This Day Forever, the progressive technicolour psychedelia of The World Of Dust and the driving synthwave of Preventer. The is lovingly crafted country folk from Sara Rodenburg, bluesy ska shuffle from Deb Cavanaugh and classic country sound from Lloyd Tosoff And The Redneck Allstars.

This week, we wind down with the jangly psychedelic folk of Adrian John Szozda, the Americana singer/songwriter brilliance of Darrell Mitchell and the catchy yet emotive folk pop of Susan Broadfoot. Manna Ash close out with a slice of memorable alt folk rock. Special thank you to all the artists involved and the music lovers that keep coming back to AB Records each and every week. Have a great weekend and see you soon!
