about

Independent Music Sampler #133

Aldora Britain Records proudly presents Night Shadows 2: The Ballad Of Jimy Sohns, an eclectic collection of 25 independent and underground songs from all around the globe. This collection's title is in memory of Shadows Of Knight founding member Jimy Sohns. Whilst the songs aren't directly related to the band or Jimy, we find this to be a fitting tribute to Jimy and our good friends in The Shadows Of Knight. Thanks for the music.

We welcome back several familiar faces, including the indie folk pop of Boo Sutcliffe and Claire Helm, and the jumping rockabilly revival of The Twangy & Tom Trio. There is also R&B / powerpop crossover from The Smart Folk, twangy folk blues from L.R. Marsh, and festive contemporary folk from Steven Gellman. Keith Pray returns with his Hammond-infused acid jazz, Chest Rockwell brings us soaring hard rock, and Soziales Hetzwerk reminds us of how good driving Deutsch rock is.

Charlie Marshall introduces us to the new world soul of The Body Electric, and John Mabry brings us the expansive progressive rock of his Mind Furniture side project. Ted Hajnasiewicz features twice with a cut from his solo output and a track from his rootsy band HebbaJebba, and M.X. Turner returns with the ska punk of The Spunk Lads. Snappy Little Numbers bring us another from their roster too. This time it is the shuffling folk rock of Alien Neighborhood.

As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.
