"I'VE FALLEN OUT WITH THE IN CROWD..."

Legendary London indie rock group, The Theme, return to Aldora Britain Records with their glorious new single, 'My Head Is Spinning Around'. The track is backed up by an acoustic reimagining of 'Distance' on the B-side.

'My Head Is Spinning Around' is the natural progression from the band's previous offering, 'Blink Of An Eye'. Paul Bassom's evolution as a songwriter is clear to see. The track continues The Theme's quest to reach the most euphoric, technicolour peaks. They are no longer the brash, guitar-based indie rock band of formative years. There is an obvious cinematic tinting, touching on the unparalleled experimentation of 60s psychedelia. It is the sound of a songwriter and a band who are on an endless quest to push the boundaries, and defy any pre-conceptions of what The Theme are meant to be.

Phil Sorrell of Caretaker Studios is a major influence too, brining his operatic production technique to proceedings. Paul himself admits, 'They wouldn't sound the same without [Sorrell's] finishing touches'. Think of the modernist pop musings of English indie artists John Donegan and Darron J Connett. That thematic approach is being harnessed here by The Theme, from the perspective of a fully incarnated rock and roll band.

For fans of The Kinks, Traffic, The Beatles, Pink Floyd and The Moody Blues.
