about

English folk rock singer-songwriter John O'Sullivan returns to Aldora Britain Records with another expertly crafted selection from his vast back-catalogue. This release is a five-track EP entitled Listen, Listen.

John O'Sullivan is an artist who paints colours through sound. This set sees him at his most orchestral and cinematic, embracing the world of baroque pop whilst remaining true to his time-tested folk rock sensibility. 'Ingenue Eyes' and 'Where Is The Magic?' have mythical qualities that tap into the great British folk tradition, 'Listen, Listen (For Sandy Denny)' is a wonderful tribute with a jazz undercurrent, 'Reaching Out' is heavenly chamber pop with a 60s feel, and 'Last Stand' concludes proceedings with an ethereal bluesy country twang. This is truly another side of John O'Sullivan, an endlessly creative and innovative artist.

For fans of Richard Thompson, Scott Walker, John Martyn, Brian Wilson, and Lee Hazlewood.

John O'Sullivan: “I have always loved playing with words. I wrote poetry from about twelve years old ... I keep a notebook and pen beside my bed, in a pocket of every coat and jacket.”
