about

Weekly Independent Music Taster #89

This week's compilation album is called Into Babe's Kingdom, a superbly eclectic collection of independent and underground music from around the globe. The title references the latest album from The Room Upstairs (Babe's Kingdom). The Lancashire-based bedroom psychedelia duo have become fine friends of ABR over the last 2 years. As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.

Alongside The Room Upstairs, we also welcome back the Hammond sound punk rock of The Prof. Fuzz 63 and the prog rock adventures of Ananda Mida. We have a solo contribution from Fishing For Compliments' frontwoman Eileen Alanna, and a lockdown session from French garage rockers The Fuzz and Drums.

There are plenty of new faces this week too. We have wailing jump blues from The Terraplanes Blues Band, rollicking boogie woogie from Doug Westberg and dark gospel blues from Silas J. Dirge. Jambambloo bring us jangly cosmic Americana, Soloman Smith delivers a swinging jazz shuffle and Zoe Fitzgerald Carter contributes soaring country rock. There is the emotive blue-eyed soul of Jodie Marie, the dreamy psych folk of Beams and the southern blues rock of All Knowing McGill.

We have honest folk rock from Chris Wilhelm, progressive experimentalism from The Electric Summertime Man and continental alternative pop from Lentillas De Colores. There is the melodic new wave of Nigel G. Lowndes, the crunching classic rock of Jon Blackstone and the harmony-driven powerpop of Eric Geurts. John Steam Jr delivers his take on singer/songwriter indie folk, Motion Picture take us back to the 90s with some twee pop and Near Death Experience give us groove-laden funk rock. Tap Dog provide the final contribution with some extreme alternative rock and roll.

Special thank you to all the artists involved and the music lovers that keep coming back to AB Records. Enjoy, play loud and see you next week!
