about

Weekly Independent Music Taster #99

This week's compilation is entitled Hot Problems. The title is a reference to Justine And The Unclean's record, Heartaches And Hot Problems, a track from which is featured here, a relentless slice of hard rock. Justine also contributes with her record label, Red On Red Records, via a track by Kid Gulliver, melodic powerpop perfection. Our European jazz heroes also return once again, this time as Rok Zalokar Trio. Lloyd Tosoff is our final familiar face this week, contributing his signature neo-traditional country. As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.

We have infectious surf psychedelia from Gay Neighbors, cosmic folk rock from Black Creek Rock and swirling chamber pop from Matthew Hender. There is the rumbling French blues of Fabrice Falandry, the raw fuzz punk of Badass Mother Fuzzers and the lo-fi fuzzy post-punk of Nine Month Media Blackout. Decibel bring their noisy post-punk aggression, Jynxer deliver heavy pop punk and Zankerfeld give us expansive noise rock.

There is a techno electronic mirage from Negative Response, alternative avant-garde experimentalism from Lark and traditional folk storytelling from Illiteratty. Carol Crittenden contributes with alt country balladry, Donovan's Brain get colourful with travelling psychedelic rock and Hover give us a contemporary southern rock kick. There is the lo-fi folk rock of Andrew Robert Palmer, the symphonic cinematic folk of Noah Kite and the lovingly-crafted chamber folk of Nightjars.

This week, we wind down with melodic folk rock from Rhys Wilson, old-time traditional folk from Songtree and DIY indie surf from Quinn Kennedy. Special thank you to all the artists involved and the music lovers that keep coming back to AB Records each and every week. Have a great weekend and see you soon!
