about

Weekly Independent Music Taster #80

The Aldora Britain Records compilation series returns with Gravity, an eclectic collection of 23 underground selections. Diverse, grassroots and authentic! The title song comes from German electro pop artist Annemarie Reynis, a track taken from her recent EP Her Own Home. As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.

A number of familiar faces return this week. We welcome back the cosmic folk rock of Dead Perennials, the soulful bluesy rock of Mr B & The Wolf and the lo-fi bedroom pop of Kicks Of The East. Samuel Alexander Barbour also returns with his Celtic folk pop, as do Woosley Band with their alternative roots rock and The Shattered Hopes with an industrial take on post-punk. Big Stir Records contribute a track from the new Bablers release, a sun-soaked slice of powerpop perfection.

The remainder of this week's taster is made up of brand new faces from the independent underground. Willa Mae gives the album an indie pop introduction and Detergente Liquido follow with some catchy Spanish pop. There is then pop punk from Monsters Up North, dreamy indie pop from Que Bailen Los Demas and baroque pop from Liam Singer. Crushed Stars give us expansive indie pop soundscapes and Andy Baylor delivers a contemporary blues kick.

There is the alternative country of Licity Collins and Judo Pony, and an indie folk infusion from Zoe Wren. One Minus One brings us garage singer/songwriter, DartAjax delivers a psych tinting and Maxx Silver gets original with gothic electronica. Proceedings conclude this week with the instrumental post-rock of Thomas Jamet and the dub reworkings of Los Marvelitos.

Thanks again for tuning in. Play loud and enjoy. See you next week!
