about

Weekly Independent Music Taster #95

Aldora Britain Records remembers the iconic Dusty Hill on this week's compilation of underground music, aptly entitled Dusty. We have 25 handpicked selections from all around the globe. As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.

Jason Presley returns with Backward Collective and a noir piece of cinematic spaghetti western. Jeffrey Bright is back also, this time he contributes with Darke County and a twangy foray into the field of apocalyptic pop. Our usual More Than Folk Records spot is taken by some fantastic rambling indie folk from Black Morning and Brooks Adams - a.k.a. El Borko - brings us his Surficana once again.

Elsewhere, the hard and heavy power blues of No More Winters open proceedings, closely followed by the riot grrrl carnage of The Mad Cowgirl Disease and the riotous new jazz of The Crux. There is then a classic-sounding piece of swinging prog rock from The Filthy Piece, a retro-inclined slice of pop rock from The James Clark Institute and brilliant ambient psych pop from Simon Waldram. Adam Camm covers the 60s-inspired psychedelia, Desert Atlas delivers some lo-fi sunshine pop and Amour Vache take a funk-infused approach to post-punk.

There is harmony-driven indie pop from the brilliant Arda & The Stolen Moon, new wave-styled pop rock from the fantastic Gordon Michaels and unforgettable indie rock euphoria from the raw Edge Of 13. Crystal Monkey Project give us driving melodic rock, Sandra Bullet delivers heartfelt powerpop and Hangover Square bring us noir-leaning folk rock. We then have the hard and heavy stoner blues of Stoneforge, the freeform prog rock raucousness of Solitaricon and the experimental art rock musing of Costco Boyfriend. Proceedings conclude with Hammond sound psychedelia from Funny Face House, DIY indie rock from Mac And The Moody East and odyssey-like bedroom rock excursions from Carter C.

Special thank you to all the artists involved and the music lovers that keep coming back to AB Records every week. Have a great weekend and see you soon!
