about

Weekly Independent Music Taster #46

DOWNTOWN follows on from last week's compilation (I'm Going Uptown) and we have another diverse, eclectic collection. Marshall Sidbury and David Lawrence return to showcase their earthy country folk and British folk rock respectively. The remaining eighteen artists are all brand new to Aldora Britain Records and showcase the vast amount of talent that is still waiting to be uncovered.

Sleepy bring their anthemic take on post-punk, The Catherines deliver some jangly indie pop, and Honeywagen give us some melodic powerpop. We then have rootsy neo-soul from The Horse Puppets, swinging blues rock from Brent Stroud, and an indie punk assault from The Secret Weasels. There is the hard rock balladry of Rockborn, the indie pop storytelling of Jade Lagoon, and the experimental folk rock of Mark Owen Nutto & The Unemployed Teachers.

There is plenty more too... the traditional leaning folk rock of Megan Kleven, the Australian folk of Ruth Hazleton, and the empowered jazz fusion of Robby Schwartz. We have folk punk from No Murder No Moustache, heavy classic rock from Iron Fist, and the alternative rock of Faster Than Light. Walter Schnitzelsson serve up some more post-punk, Big Fundamental bring some garage rock, and The Midnight Strangers bring some youthful alternative pop.

As always... support independent music and enjoy! Have a great weekend...
