about

Aldora Britain Records proudly presents the return of underground indie folk sensation, Sam Kaiser. Replacing his Vagabonds with The Wilderness Party, Kaiser is ready to unveil his Covid-era single. It is released alongside an exclusive B-side that was recorded around the campfire, underneath the moonlight, 'Dear Sunflower'.

The single is fittingly dedicated to those that reach into another's darkness to ask if they need a hand. This feeling of desperate longing is painfully evident in the lead track, 'Birdsong', and this is testament to the immense songwriting ability of Kaiser. The song retains an intrinsic optimism however, and this perfectly reflects the outstretched helping hand. A piece of contemporary indie folk brilliance. B-side, 'Dear Sunflower', does not fall short of the mark either. Kaiser travels alone into the wilderness to record an acoustic, solo take of the song with a crackling campfire audible in the background. This gives the song a lovingly crafted feeling of innocence. It is a track that is, similarly to 'Birdsong', tinted with isolated sorrow.

This is an exceptional development on Kaiser's previous Accidentally Occidental record and provides a hint of what is to come.

For fans of Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver and The Avett Brothers.
