about

Independent Music Sampler #150

Aldora Britain Records proudly presents Bacharach Barrett Boogie, an eclectic collection of 25 independent and underground artists from all around the globe. This collection is dedicated to two iconic songwriters, Burt Bacharach and Barrett Strong. Both were hugely influential in shaping the musical landscape of the 1960s and beyond. It is not uncommon to still see their names crop up in the liner notes of today's hits.

We welcome back several close friends of Aldora Britain Records this week. Dave Jackson returns with the new wave alternative rock of The Room, The Mal Thursday Quintet are back with their powerhouse garage rock revival, and Dain Norman & The Chrysalis Effect contribute their soulful and colourful jungle rock. There is cosmic Americana alt country from The Braam Brothers, American melodic powerpop from Tom Curless & The 46%, and colourful and orchestral folk rock from John O'Sullivan. We also have the instrumental Celtic folk beauty of The Bookends, the swinging rockabilly revival of Tommy Romero, and the storytelling folk rock sound of Eric Harrison.

Anam Danu return with their adult contemporary baroque folk, Mythical Motors give us lo-fi melodic powerpop punk, and Cimrya Deal shakes things up with his sampling indietronica pop. There is heavy alternative stoner punk from Wynton Existing, DIY experimental folk punk from Library Man, and progressive and inventive indie rock from Alice Brown. Taragot Sounds appear once again with the traditional Norwegian folk sound of Tellef Kvifte.

As always, please download, listen loud, dig deeper with your discoveries, and support Aldora Britain Records and independent music.
